An In Depth Look At The Kindle Wi-Fi Vs 3G

The Kindle Wifi and 3g are two very similar devices, with a minor, but very important difference. Let us take an in depth look at the Kindle WiFi vs 3G and explore this difference.

First of all, what is the Kindle? The Kindle is an eReader device designed and produced by Amazon.com, the online retail giant. It uses a special technology known as E Ink technology to make reading on the electronic device as much like reading a book printed on paper as possible.

The Kindle has no backlight, so unfortunately you are not able to read at night in the dark the way you can when reading on other devices such as smartphones and tablets. However, thanks to the E Ink screen technology, you are able to use your Kindle to read in even the bright glare of direct sunlight without any strain to your eyes.

The new third generation of Kindles have a 4 gigabyte memory. This means that you are able to store up to three thousand and five hundred books on your device – enough to make more than certain that even the most avid and enthusiastic reader has more than enough books to last them for quite a while. EBooks for your Kindle device can be brought from Amazon.com, who have a huge selection with many different authors, genres and subjects, or one of a range of other eBook websites.

You are also able to play mp3 files through your Kindle device. However, because of the very limited storage space (you are not able to extend this space at all as Kindle third generation devices do not support micro SD cards) you can only fit a few songs on your device and the playlist is entirely random.

So far, we have only discussed the things about Kindle WiFi and Kindle 3G that are the same, but now let us have a look at the difference I mentioned at the beginning of the article. You can get an idea of the difference if you look at the name of the two different models of the Kindle 3.

This difference is in the methods of connecting to the internet. Both the Kindle WiFi and the Kindle 3G are capable of using a wireless network as a means of connecting to the web, bit whole this is the only method the Kindle WiFi can use, the Kindle 3G has another. It is able to connect to the internet using the cellular 3G network service, letting you get new books wherever you are.

The murders that gripped the nation Seven years ago a teenage girl, Aarushi Talwar, was found murdered in her bedroom in Noida, a middle-class suburb of Delhi. The body of the prime suspect-the family servant, Hemraj-was discovered a day later. Who had committed the double murders, and why? Within weeks, Aarushi’s parents, the Talwars, were accused; four years later, they went on trial and were convicted. But did they do it? Avirook Sen attended the trial, accessed important documents and interviewed all the players-from Aarushi’s friends to Hemraj’s old boss, from the investigators to the forensic scientists-to write a meticulous and chilling book that reads like a thriller but also tells a story that is horrifyingly true. Aarushi is the definitive account of a sensational crime, and the investigation and trial that followed. Amen

Amen

$13.58

On 31 August 2008, Sister Jesme left the Congregation of Mother of Carmel. The authorities repeated attempts to have her declared insane, she says, left her no other option. This book, a first of its kind in India, is an outpouring of her experiences as a nun for thirty-three years. Spirited and fun-loving, from a good family, deeply-rooted in Catholicism, Jesme was drawn to religious life at seventeen after a Retreat at junior college. As a nun, seven years later, she felt distressed at the many ills growing inside the convent and being forced to remain silent about them. There was corruption, by way of donations for college seats; sexual relations between some priests and nuns, and between nuns; class distinctions whereby the cheduthies, or poorer and less-educated sisters, did menial jobs; and a wide gap between comforts and facilities enjoyed by the priests and nuns. Jesme was permitted to complete her doctorate in English Literature, to pursue her passion for literature, cinema and teaching college students. She exposed them to classic films, believing that aesthetics enhances spirituality. But these joys were clouded by the troubles she faced. Searing, sincere, and sensitive, Amen is a plea for a reformation of the Church and comes at a time of its growing concern about nuns and priests. It affirms Jesme’s unbroken spirit and faith in Jesus and the Church, living like a nun, but outside the Four Walls of the convent. Note: This book is in the Hindi language and has been made available for the Kindle, Kindle Fire HD, Kindle Paperwhite, iPhone and iPad, and for iOS, Windows Phone and Android devices.

Black Friday by S Hussain Zaidi is a ghastly account of the one of the biggest terrorist attack on Bombay in 1993. The book chronicles the devastation caused to life and property due to the attacks and the trauma, both physical and mental, underwent by the people at large post the terrorist attacks and the consequent rift between the communities of Hindu and Muslims and hatred and clashes which often turned extremely violent. The book describes the events that resulted in the terrorist attack and the strong nexus between police, terrorists and underworld goons that materialised these attacks. S Hussain Zaidi gives us a detailed account of the massive investigation that unfolded the conspiracy and nexus of people involved in the attacks, some of whom happened to be from the Indian Administration. It depicts the criminal mind of some of the most notorious goons like Dawood Ibrahim and Tiger Memon, who along with others were the masterminds of the macabre plan to bomb Bombay. The book traces the true motive for the blasts in Bombay, wherein the ignominy between Hindus and Muslims fuelled the clashes and incidents of violence all of which culminated in the Bombay attacks. The pain inflicted on the Muslims minorities resulted in an unprecedented break of violence and social disorder paving way for the Bombay blasts. The book describes the nature of the characters namely the terrorists, corrupt government and law enforcement agencies who mediated with the terrorists, the prodigy of the Indian Investigation agencies who worked day and night to crack the mystery of the attacks and specifically the residents of Bombay whose indomitable spirit and resilience defeated the purpose for which the attacks were plotted. Black Friday was published by Penguin India in 2008 and is available in paperback. Note: This book is in the Hindi language and has been made available for the Kindle, Kindle Fire HD, Kindle Paperwhite, iPhone and iPad, and for iOS, Windows Phone and Android devices

In 1893, when Mohandas Gandhi set sail for South Africa, he was a briefless lawyer who had failed to establish himself in India. In this remarkable biography, Ramachandra Guha argues that the two decades that Gandhi spent in the diaspora were the making of the Mahatma. It was here that he forged the philosophy and techniques that would ultimately destroy the British Empire. Based on archival research in four continents, this book explores Gandhi’s experiments with dissident cults, his friendships and enmities, and his failures as a husband and father. Gandhi Before India tells the dramatic story of how he mobilized a cross-class and inter-religious coalition, pledged to non-violence in their battle against a racist regime. Deeply researched and beautifully written, this book will radically alter our understanding and appreciation of modern India’s greatest man. Note: This book is in the Hindi language and has been made available for the Kindle, Kindle Fire HD, Kindle Paperwhite, iPhone and iPad, and for iOS, Windows Phone and Android devices.
